BLAM (Beer, Local Art, Music)

June 10, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 10:30 pm

“BLAM” (Beer, Local Art, and Music) – BLAM is a celebration of local artists, benefitting Defenders of Wildlife. Eighteen local artists have been chosen to display and sell their artwork, and will be available to discuss their process. The art on display will include photography, painting, woodwork, and even custom snowboards. Food will be available for purchase through our friends at Sauce on the Blue and Inxpot. For those with a sweet tooth, Summit County’s first Thai ice cream vendor (Stir Pan Creamery) will be serving throughout the evening. Enjoy drink specials from New Belgium Brewery at the Warren Station Bar while listening to some of Summit’s best musicians including singer/songwriter Glenda Luck, local favorite Zuma Road, and DJ Rude Boi will close out the evening.

At $5, this event is meant for everyone! Better still, a portion of proceeds will be donated to Defenders of Wildlife, one of the premier environmental non-profits in Colorado. Come enjoy the summer sun, grab a beer, purchase local art, support local music, and give back for a great cause!

Local artists include: Hannah Chavez, Alicia Dolbashian, Jim Smith Snowboarding, Brian Blamey, Joshua Doolittle, Mountain Smith Carpentry, Alex Neuschaefer, Jeremy Greene, Brandi Violetta, Old Gold Vintage, and more!

Defenders of Wildlife: Founded in 1947, Defenders of Wildlife is a major national conservation organization focused solely on wildlife and habitat conservation and the safeguarding of biodiversity. We believe in the inherent value of wildlife and the natural world, and this singular focus defines our important niche in the environmental and conservation community and serves as the anchor for our organizational values.

Defenders’ approach is direct and straightforward – We protect and restore imperiled species throughout North America by transforming policies and institutions and promoting innovative solutions – and this approach makes a lasting difference for wildlife and its habitat

Zuma Road: Formed in Autumn of 2015, the five piece groove, soul, rock group, Zuma Road, draws from a wide range of musical influences to sonically provide the same sort of adventure as a trip through the Colorado mountainsides. There’s no telling what could be around the next corner, but you can be sure it will be absolutely beautiful.

From the deep, funky jams of their debut single ‘4817,’ to the bluesy, soulful stylings of their most recent composition, ‘Pretty Girl,’ Zuma Road is sure to provide an unforgettable experience for music lovers of all ages.

Glenda Luck: Award winning chanteuse/composer Glenda Luck delights her audiences by performing folk and classically influenced original compositions on a variety of instruments. Her compelling voice lures her listener’s ear closer for a savory and intimate evening. Weaving lyrics and melody together as she moves seamlessly from classical guitar to banjo, harmonica and piano. Ms. Luck presently resides in Silverthorne, CO.

DJ Rude Boi: An essential in the Summit County area for years, DJ Rude Boi has been steadily building his DJ realm beat by beat all over Colorado. With influences of breakdancing, graffiti, and DJing, Justin has come a long way. Keeping up with new styles and genres of music is his biggest inspiration. The music scene is continuously changing and bringing more to the table. With an original love for House music, Break Beats, Drum & Bass, Hip-Hop, Funk, and Punk Rock music, DJ Rude Boi enjoys mixing the old with the new, creating a remarkable performance. Justin started playing music locally in Colorado, at bars and clubs around town. His career started here in Summit County at the famous Snake River Saloon and he is currently a resident at Lake Dillon Tavern. DJ Rude Boi is always looking for the next best thing.
