A MEMORIAL TO DOUG SIMS
The Keystone Neighbourhood Co Dedicates Plaque in Memory of Long-Time Community Member, Doug Sims
The Keystone and Summit County area suffered a great loss when Doug Sims passed away suddenly in October of 2022.
Doug was devoted to many nonprofit organizations throughout Summit and served on the boards of the Lake Dillon Theater Co (currently Theater SilCo), The Keystone Science School and the Keystone Neighbourhood Company. His love of his mountain community was evident where he volunteered much of his personal time and leadership to the growth of so many mountain non-profit organizations.

On Friday, August 11th the Keystone Neighbourhood Company installed a plaque at the main entrance into River Run Village in Doug’s memory. The plaque commemorates Doug’s dedication to the Keystone Community along with the greater Summit County. The plaque serves as a reminder to live as he did with a strong dedication to his family and the great outdoors. Doug is survived by his wife Nancy, his children Rob and Anne, and his grandchildren. Doug left an indelible impression on whomever he spent time with. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
